Dr Caleb Armstrong
My Background
I qualified as a consultant psychiatrist in 2012 whilst working in general adult psychiatry in Alice Springs, and returned to New Zealand to take up a job in the specialty of Youth Forensics. I hold Certificates of Advanced Training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Forensic Psychiatry, and Adult Psychiatry.
In addition to clinical work I am also an honorary senior lecturer at the University of Auckland’s Department of Psychological Medicine and a regular presenter at psychiatric conferences.
I am regularly called upon as an expert witness in a range of medico-legal issues, including reviewing cases for New Zealand’s Health and Disability Commission (HDC).
As a result of my experience and training I have developed a strong basis for practice across a range of areas in psychiatry, providing the basis for a flexible and nimble approach to solving problems presented by patients, their caregivers, GPs, lawyers, insurers and therapists.
I work on being open, friendly, ethical, accommodating and adaptable and I look forward to sharing my expertise and experience with you.
